From the high window of his apartment, David gazed out at the cityscape, the lights twinkling like scattered jewels against the deepening twilight. The city was a canvas of life, a constant hum of activity that he found intensely pleasing. He’d just finished a new album - a challenging project, one that consumed him completely. The response from the label, the one he'd dreamed of signing with for years, was a distant thought.

He reached for his guitar, his fingers already itching to strum a chord. He could hear the faint sound of music drifting up from the street below, a street performer's melancholic melody. He felt no need to rush, no need to hurry. The music would fill his time.
